Trump: I'm Not Signing The "Moderate" House DACA Bill That Gives Away Quasi-Citizenship With Only Token, Fake Border Enforcement
Whew. I was very worried about the House liberal Republicans' shenanigans of forcing a liberal sellout bill on DACA because I did in fact fear that Trump, who has before indicated he's be willing to sign just about anything on DACA, would sign it if it passed both houses.
But he says he won't. Another upside surprise.
After Trump defeated Cruz, and some were arguing (and some were passive-aggressively implying) that we'd be better off with Hillary as president, I and many others noted that we know for a fact that Hillary is a true-believing leftist who quite literally hates us (see Deplorables; see the various conspiracy theories about the right Hillary was fed by Sidney Blumenthal which she was all too eager to believe), and, while Trump may have liberal tendencies, we could at least influence him.
He would listen to us, at least, as he needed our support and our votes to be successful and be re-elected. Hillary, on the other hand, needed none of that from us, and in fact would garner the support and reelection votes from her Democrat supporters by giving us the thumb in the eye and actively working to harm us,, even if there was no clear policy question at stake.
"Making Conservatives Cry" has been one of the only consistent goals of the leftist coalition for years, which makes it adorable when self-proclaimed TruCon experts at politics whine about Kurt Schlichter merely joking about Making Liberals Cry as an important goal. (Well, he's half joking -- and to the extent he's half-serious, he's half-right.)
At any rate, it turns out those of us who decided that Trump might be a liberal, but Hillary was definitely a bloody-shirt revanchist leftist avenger, and that we could in fact push Trump to support us, were right, and those claiming that Trump was even more liberal than Hillary (on fucking what? On the disastrous devotion to neocon militarism-and-childlike-moral-idealism?) were wrong.
Not that they'd ever say so.
So I'll confess error on their behalf.
I'm generous like that. I want to save them the effort and anguish of having to admit, for the 300th time, that they were wrong. (Not that they've admitted they were wrong those 299 times, of course.)
Actually... I shouldn't crow yet. Trump's claim that he won't sign a moderate bill could be a bluff. And he frequently changes his mind.
So... I guess I retract my claim of victory in this matter. I can only say I'm reassured at the moment, and not as worried as I had been.
But I'm still worried.
Either way, though: Not really any question that President Hillary Clinton would have amnestied all illegals, including those with serious criminal charges against them, as she promised in a debate with Bernie Sanders, huh?
Ugh: Yeah, color me worried again.
