Reuters/Ipsos Poll: Democrat Lead on Generic Congressional Ballot Now Down to One

Page 16 of this report. Both with all adults and registered voters, the lead is just one. 36-35 among all adults, and 39-38 among registered voters.

Interestingly, the GOP has a one point lead with independents, 25-24. The one point overall deficit seems to come from Republicans themselves. While Democrat candidates command 84% support from fellow Democrats, Republican candidates only command 79% support from fellow Republicans.

That's that enthusiasm gap in play, and maybe also the fact that a certain number of Republicans are effectively praying for the GOP to lose in order to teach the rest of the party some Lessons.

Update: A CBS poll finds the Democrats' enthusiasm edge to be down to... zero.
