Just Some Observations

The Nanny State, it is alive, well and flourishing on both sides of the pond. First we start with the stalwart of freedom, The Mayor of London. "He (meaning President Trump) will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear."

Oh yeah, how's that freedom of speech working out for one Mr. Mark "Count Dankula" Meechan?

Mark Meechan, 30, recorded his girlfriend's pug, Buddha, responding to statements such as "Sieg Heil" by raising its paw.

[...]Sheriff Derek O'Carroll found him guilty of a charge under the Communications Act that he posted a video on social media and YouTube which was grossly offensive because it was "anti-Semitic and racist in nature" and was aggravated by religious prejudice.

What good is "Free Speech" if it is only sanctioned speech? It isn't free is it?

Good news on the Pro-Life front. Florida has enacted some very tough Pro-Life laws protecting human life.

Florida state law provides protection against taking, possessing, disturbing, mutilating, destroying or causing to be destroyed, selling or offering for sale, transferring, molesting, or harassing any marine turtle baby or fetus or its nest or eggs at any time.

Just kidding, we all know that there is life in an egg shell but not in the human womb.

Planned Parenthood will still be receiving over half a billion dollars in taxpayer funds, thanks to congressional Republicans.

The House voted 240-186 to approve the joint funding and budget bill passed by the Senate that focused primarily on military spending and immigration.

In its latest annual report, Planned Parenthood shows it took in nearly $544 million in taxpayer funding, as it also boosted its profits by $21 million—or 27 percent—from the prior year. The organization continues to perform over 320,000 abortions per year.

Blue wave? If it does happen I imagine this had noting to do with GOP voters apathy.

How does that old song from Westside Story go?

I feel pretty,safe,
Oh, so pretty,safe,
I feel prettysafe and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girlMoron who isn't me tonight.

Now you can feel safe when you use emojis.

Following the news that Google is replacing its pistol emoji into a water pistol, two more companies have decided to do the same. Both Facebook and Microsoft have openly announced plans to follow suit.

The growing trend has been seen by a variety of companies over the last few years. Apple had been the first to start the trend in 2016, with tech giants like Samsung and Twitter following its lead. Facebook and Microsoft are the last two companies to make the official switch from the original gun emoji to the water pistol.

Damn, I do feel safer now.

The great thing about politicians, most of them have never "worked" a day in their lives in the private sector. They learned Econ 101 and Human Behavior 101 in schools taught by those who fell into the same category. By hoping, wishing and waving their magic fucking wands once again they have solved the crime problem.

Liberal solutions would make a pretty good stand-up comedy routine if the consequences weren’t so dire. Baltimore, one of the most violent cities in America, is currently experiencing a serious spike in violent crime. This is after the mayor already instituted some crime reduction measures, but her new solution to this wave of violence is to force businesses to close early. See, I told you it would be funny if people’s lives weren’t at stake.

Baltimore mayor Catherine E. Pugh has implemented something called the Violence Reduction Initiative. It doesn’t involve more cops on the streets or aggressive prosecution of violent thugs, but rather it’s “a flood of services” for the worst neighborhoods in the city. What does that mean? Nobody knows, but the recent flood of murders in Baltimore proves it’s as ineffective as it sounds.

Funny thing. It is always the inanimate objects or the law abiding citizens fault for the crimes we see across this country.

And so when the all of the stores in the "hoods" close, it's good to know that Jesse Jackson will be there to help.

CINCINNATI — The Rev. Jesse Jackson called Tuesday for expansion of a boycott he is waging against Kroger to protest grocery store closures in minority communities.

He also said he wasn't sure whether he believed Kroger's claims that a store in this city's Walnut Hills neighborhood was unprofitable before it was closed last year. More than three-quarters of Walnut Hills residents are black, and the neighborhood's median household income in the 2010 Census was $29,000, 15% less than the city as a whole.

Rev. Jackson, instead of legally extorting for profit businesses, why don't you do something about the crimes and jobs? Oh yeah, the magic wand doesn't work does it?
