Ace of Spades Pet Thread
(Sounds very, very familar)
Welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. Appreciate you stopping by. Grab a beverage and kick back and relax for a while.
(Just don't blow in his face)

Thought of the day: "Longevity in life should be measured in how many dogs you loved and how many loved you instead of years." h/t Mike Hammer

A Little of This. A Little of That.
We usually hear about the Fire Department reaching up to great heights to rescue cats. Not always.
Just because a pet has a disability doesn't mean he/she has to be destroyed. Deaf and partially blind saves 3 year old.h/t Hrothgar
Always be careful when you choose your pet sitter.
Dog moments. Dog owners I think can relate to most of these. I know I can.
Mutt and Jeff were on the loose.

Meet The PetMorons
..for the pet thread. Just thought you might enjoy this. You recall the pic of Charlie-the-guine-pig in his strawberry house? Well, this was the scene last night. That's Ace, my one-eyed pirate cat whom I have offered to Teh Boss in a blatant attempt to bribe him into whitelisting me so I can comment. If you scroll off to the right (and I'm sorry about the size but seem to have made the pic un-editable) you'll see poor Charlie under his china hutch. He needs a thought bubble...."WTF, cat?!?" - Creeper
Quite the household you have there Creeper. Amazing they all get along.

"Happy, happy!" Her Majesty and Lacey after winning another Best in Show. Lacey appeared as a champion in 378 shows and was Best of Breed in 269 of them. Her Majesty handled her in every one and you can see the bond of love that joined the two over the years.
Lacey's morning was silver, her noontime golden and her evening bronze. But each was solid and all were polished until they shone after their fashion. She was our heart. She was magic.

A beautiful photo Hadrian, thanks for sharing!!

This is Mr. Jack, the World's Greatest Hound, who passed away after a brief illness on April 17, 2018. "Born a dog, but lived a gentleman." - Andrew
So sorry to hear of your loss. He looked like he lived the life of leisure at your home. Thank you for the submission.

This is our little Black-Capped conure Hugo Whistler. He is named after the great mid twentieth century composer Hugo Distler. At 18 years he is past mid-life. If we are lucky we will have him for at least another 12. Yes, he does talk, having a vocabulary of 20-30 words. His favorite phrases are “love you”, “where are you going” and “what are you doing.” And of course he can say his name and does so with frequency. He also makes kissing noises when he thinks he is not getting enough attention. Conures make great companions but they are, as all parrots are, high maintenance pets. They need a lot of attention and are incredibly messy as you can see in the first picture. If you are willing to put up with the high maintenance, parrots make wonderful pets. Cheers! -Long time lurker/Too shy to comment.
Thanks for the photo and telling us about parrots. We don't get a lot of photos and stories about them. He's a beautiful creature.
