The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition
The contempt felt by the ruling class of this country for the average American is palpable. It is an incredible divide, and one that seems to be getting worse and worse. I have spent time on both coasts...in the belly of the beast, as it were. And I have also spent time in the heartland of this great nation, and there is absolutely nothing the elites have that is anything about which to brag. Can some of them quote Moliere? Sure, but all too often I read their screeds in their magazines and I have a sneaking suspicion that many of them spend a lot of time with Bartletts Quotations. Are they nice people? No, they aren't. I'll take the friendliness of middle America any day over the pompous and arrogant attitudes I find in our cosmopolitan areas.
Salena Zito: The middle of somewhere
In my estimation, there is no patch of geography in this country that is the "middle of nowhere." This is America; everywhere is the middle of somewhere.
Whether it is Tightwad, Mo., Mooresville, Ala., Hyder, Alaska, Oatman, Ariz., or right here in Lost River, W.Va., every place, large or small, depressed or thriving, or down to one mailbox on one lonely road, is somewhere.
We are all equals; we all contribute to the culture, diversity, dialect, and importance of this country. We build things, we serve in our communities, we serve in our military, we create families, businesses, and technology no matter where we are – we find a way to make each village and town and city a unique snapshot of this country.
It is an idea and an ideal that Hillary Clinton not only got wrong in the last election, but is still getting wrong; her remarks in India in March reinforced that.
"If you look at the map of the United States, there's all that red in the middle where Trump won," she said. "I win the coast, I win, you know, Illinois and Minnesota, places like that."
She went on to say that where she won, America is thriving: "I won the places that represent two-thirds of America's gross domestic product. So, I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, 'Make America Great Again,' was looking backwards."
Diverse? Really? Do we want diversity of color and ethnicity? Because that's what this harridan means! Personally, I want diversity of thought, not the rigid adherence to the progressive cant that is her most fervent desire.
I am so very very glad that she was thrashed in 2016. What a vile and contemptible being she is.

In Austin, Antifa is taking the Inquisition into its own hands.
An Antifa group at the University of Texas at Austin is calling for “revolutionary violence” against assistant professor Robert L. Reece after he wrote a column running afoul of feminist dogma.
Reece isn’t the kind of academic that radical leftists typically attack.
Reece checks so many politically correct boxes that he’d normally be immune from criticism. He’s a young black sociologist from a poor community in Mississippi cotton country, deeply involved in issues of intense interest to the Left. He writes for a publication of the race-obsessed, far-left Southern Poverty Law Center. His academic research“revolves around the question ‘What is race?’ as well as inquiries into the historical origins of racial inequality, colorism/skin tone stratification, and racial fluidity.”

Kurt Schlichter brings it...again.
Liberals Announce Plan to Crush Normal Americans in a New "Civil War"
(Spoiler: It's Not a Great Plan)
Now, I know what you're saying. You're saying, "Why do a bunch of San Francisco dorks think that 150 million Americans with 300 million guns are just going to give up their rights and their say in their own governance and submit to the commands of people who eat kale by choice?" That's a fair question, and they have an answer.
Because you just are.
I didn't say it was a good answer.
