The Morning Report 3/14/18

lambasted.jpg

Good morning kids. Midweek and in the lead, the special election in PA-18. As of early this morning, Democrat Conor Lamb and Republican Rick Saccone are in a dead hit, with Lamb up by 847 votes with over 3,000 absentee ballots yet to be counted. The Democrat-Media Complex guarantees that this one will spell the end of President Trump, no matter who wins - as they have done with every other special election since January of last year. It is troubling that a seat that went for PDT by like +20 should not be an automatic lock, especially in a heavy blue collar district despite the union influence (the leadership and not necessarily the rank and file). Stay tuned.

Addendum: The closeness of this election does underscore one thing: the convicted felon and Nazi collaborator George Soros' efforts to buy as many secretary of state elections as he can. It is they who certify the votes of each of the 57 states. Can we haz RICO already???

Addendum 2:
So if this is a normally heavily Democrat district, and that Trump's landslide in November of '16 an aberration, if Saccone wins it, then it really is more of a bellwether for the President than the Democrats should Lamb win, even if the district will be redrawn and a new election happens this November.

The other big story is the firing of Rex Tillerson and the appointment of Mike Pompeo to take over at State, while his second in command Gina Haspel is slated for the top slot at CIA, confirmation hearings notwithstanding. Tillerson was at odds with every major foreign policy stance the President had, from the Paris Climate deal, to the Jerusalem embassy, to the NorKs and the Iran Nuke Sellout. It was ultimately the latter that did him in since it has been revealed he was working behind the President's back with the EU to prevent the US from scrapping it. You can argue that the way he was fired was wrong, but that's a sideshow and a distraction. After a little over a year, the President is now getting the lay of the land and is no longer a newcomer, relying on advice from insiders who may or may not have his best interests at heart, i.e. recommending someone like Tillerson in the first place. Pompeo and Haspel are very much in line with an aggressive and resurgent Trump foreign policy that puts American interests first on the world stage. No doubt there will be others who will get the chop when they clash with the Trump agenda. Hopefully that includes that hideous pick at EEOC Chai Feldblum who has a hard-on strap-on to destroy religious freedom.

On the immigration front, the President was in Southern California yesterday where he inspected the prototypes of the big, beautiful border wall and talk about the number one issue that got him elected - border security and an end to unchecked illegal immigration. If Kamala-Toe, Moonbeam and Libbo-Libby had a set of stones between them, they'd have joined the mob of miscreant protestors in LA and San Diego. On a very positive note, the Fifth Circuit has reinstated Texas' anti-sanctuary city law which is a huge win for the cause, while at the same time, the Administration is pressuring Congress to hold back funds for sanctuary cities. Meanwhile, the latest Democrat-Leftist tactic is to start blood-libeling ICE as the new Gestapo and to call for its dissolution.

Moving on to the Mueller flea circus, we're learning that Obama's taint is all over the phony Fusion GPS dossier. And as Schiff-for-brains blows a gasket at the shutting down of the House Intel Committee's probe and the proclamation that there was no collusion between Russia and Trump the candidate/president, Rush states the obvious: show the evidence proving Trump guilty or STFD and STFU.

On the domestic front, tax revenues are setting a record which as IBD turns the words of the Leftists inside out, indicates that the tax cuts are indeed paying for themselves. Also. Larry Kudlow is being talked up as a replacement for Gary Cohn as chief economic advisor. In other headlines, the President said something about creating a US "Space Force," and Congress is interested in helping everyone except the US taxpaying citizenry while preserving, protecting and defending Obamacare. Feh.

From hither and yon, good essay at the Spectator about Ruth Marcus and the arrogance/disconnect of the so-called elites, a new Gallup survey shows support for the state of Israel at an all-time high even among Democrats and lastly we note the passing of famed theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking at the age of 76. Although his politics towards the end of his life tinged his science, it's remarkable that he lasted as long as he did and in the condition he did. RIP.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
