The Morning Report 2/13/18

urine.jpg

Good morning kids. For me and I suspect most of you, confusion is the order of the day when it comes to the President's budget proposal as well as his infrastructure plan. Is the latter part of the former or is it a separate bill entirely? And then we get into the political/philosophic debate over the issue of borrowing and spending, as well as the Federal government's role in, well, everything really. To top it off is the issue of who is getting the better of whom: the Left, the RINOs, the conservatives or Trump himself? Meanwhile as this goes forward, we have the issue of immigration and Amnesty. On all of these, my gut is to trust the President while being wary of those in Congress who are charged with actually crafting law.

On the plus side of things, it seems as if the infrastructure plan is more of a matching funds kind of strategy, with the Fed only footing a part of the bill with state and local funds and private enterprise financing the rest. In fact, as some analysts point out, it mirrors the way PDT has run his businesses in the past. I'm really of two minds of all of this. I sorely want to see the size and scope of government shrink. After all, it is our money - past, present and future - that funds our own destruction in the form of The Swamp. But, unless and until we have 100 Senators and 435 Congressman with the exact same temperament as the President, the sausage is going to be made, and so we just have to accept that fact and make the best of it, and trust that the President has our backs on all these issues.

In coup news, we have a just breaking story about how, literally as the minutes were ticking down on the 8-Year Reign of Error, Susan Rice sent an e-mail about a meeting she had with Comey, Biden and Obama about Russian collusion. The recipient was... herself. Meanwhile, the delay in sentencing of Michael Flynn continues to raise eyebrows and Ben Stein, who aside from his impassioned cries of "Bueller? Bueller?" was a speechwriter for President Nixon, implores the GOP to get off its ass and fight back against the anti-Trump coup. I assume he's unaware that at least 50% of that party is part of it.

Moving along, the Winter Olympics continues to be a shameless anti-American, anti-Trump political opportunity for the Media as well as a number of our own athletes, sad to say. While these revolting hacks fall all over themselves to smear us and elevate Whoa, Fat's! sister, herself a part of the ruling tyranny, Tu-Ca absolutely obliterates an American commie on his show. The last time I was into the Olympics was '72, and we all know what happened then. At least in '76 we had Bruce Jenner to... oh, wait. Never mind.

Circling back to politics, we have some good links about how the Dept. of Education is shit-canning the transexual bathroom nonsense, an IBD editorial about Trump's behind the scenes dismantling of whole swathes of the Leviathan and his simple plan to deal with the Federal workforce - hire the best, fire the rest. I'm down for that struggle.

From hither and yon, the Iranians unveiled a nuke-capable missile of their own manufacture, an interesting analysis of China's impending economic woes fueled by its demographic woes, congratulations to Baltimore for 11 straight days without a murder, you'll be happy to know that Bob Corker might not be retiring after all and finally, my own take on the ex-president's portrait.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
