The Morning Report 2/6/18

schiffripper.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday and I just looked at the links and we're loaded so let's dive in. The big news is Wall Street taking a dive yesterday (a continuation from the tail end of last week) and I'm afraid the tea leaves don't look much better for today. In any case, from what little I understand of it, it's basically the market doing what it normally does, which is correct itself from wild swings in either direction. Although it's good that it does present opportunities for investors to pick up bargains, among them are people and institutions that are now firmly in the leftist camp, including Warren Buffet and convicted felon and Nazi collaborator George Soros. I wouldn't worry about it all that much but of course the Left will use it for scare headlines with which to beat up on PDT. In the long term, the economy is on the rebound, national debt and government borrowing/spending notwithstanding.

The other big story is the fallout from the release of the FISA memo, both real world revelations and ramifications and the propaganda and lies from the Democrat-Media complex. Devin Nunes had an extended appearance on Rush's show yesterday and the transcript is below. The guy has done yeoman's work under the most brutal personal attacks from the usual gang of scum and momzerim. But, as mentioned yesterday, the memo is just the tip of the iceberg. There are now calls for release of the actual intel from which the memo is based, the unsealing of the FISA warrant itself to see who authorized and on what basis it was given, red meat from Paul Gosar who calls the key players in this affair treasonous and Mark Levin who just flat out accuses Obama of knowing about and approving the actions of his DoJ and FBI.

In response, the Democrat-Media complex hurls accusations and impugns the character of Nunes, and has created it's own memo, or "meme-oh!" to muddy the waters by flat out lying their asses off. The fact that Jimmy "Drama" Comey's assistant gets hired by CNN less than 48 hours after resigning from the FBI speaks volumes. Look in the sidebar for the extensive piece by Andy McCarthy in which he dismantles the oleaginous, slimy Gerald Nadler's take on this. As much as I loathe that fat bastard, at least he tries to make something of a reasoned argument, unlike Adam Schiff who now claims the Russians are supporting the NRA because they want to see Americans kill each other off.

What disgusts me as much as the crimes themselves is the shameless, blatant political hackery that the Democrat party is engaging in. It's not surprising at all, given who and what they are. But it's disgusting. Party over country with them. Always. That essay from yesterday was dead on: destroy the Democrat party.

There are no easy answers, no quick fixes, and probably very little justice in the fullest and truest sense of the word that will ever be visited upon the bastards who perverted our law enforcement and legal systems to overthrow a national election and sabotage a sitting president. I have to resign myself to that fact. But it is worth noting that none of this would ever have come to light had Trump lost the election and the fact that all of this coming to light, whatever the outcome may be, is revelatory to a whole lot of people who were blind to it all just a few short years ago. The pessimists will note that many Americans will yawn. But many will not, and in the long run that's not such a bad place to be.

In other news, Justice Alito might have caused some real trouble for the midterms in denying a motion to stay the redistricting in Pennsylvania. While Eagle fans were destroying their city, there was evidently a hit-and-run incident that is being investigated as a possible terrorist attack. The McCain-Coons bill is being called worse than Graham-Durbin by the White House, and there's an interesting interview with one of the contractors for the big, beautiful Border Wall.

Lastly, it is with sadness that we note the passing of veteran actor John Mahoney at the age of 77. He's most known for playing the curmudgeonly but lovable ex-cop father Martin Crane on the iconic sitcom "Frasier." RIP.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
