The Morning Report 1/24/18

Good morning kids. Middle of the week and two stories dominate the headlines while a third is bubbling under on a slow but steadily increasing boil, and is no less important. First up, we have the continuing fight over DACA, the tip of the spear on the issue, and the crux of the biscuit which is Amnesty and the attempt to completely eradicate our American culture and national identity. On the purely tactical level, Shotdown Shutdown Schumer and the leadership of the Senate Democrats were humiliated by the President and the rabid Marxist base is absolutely livid. Schumer and company have painted themselves into a corner; even if they were to offer PDT funding for only one foot of wall in exchange for a foot in the door on DACA (and overall Amnesty which is their holy grail), the wall represents Trump and that is the singular object and focus of their hatred. They do not comprehend the tactical side of sausage-making even if it is to their ultimate benefit down the road. Witness the storming of Schumer's home by his own Marxist cadres. And in about three weeks we do this all over again and Schumer has vowed to do the same thing all over again, digging his heels in and stating that funding for the wall is off the table - something not likely to endear him to PDT. On the second side of the triangle, we have the President and people like Stephen Miller and Tom Cotton who will not budge on the key issues of the wall and an end to chain migration while on the third side of this triangle is the Establishment represented most clearly in the form of the oleaginous, smug, smarmy Lindsay Grahamnesty who is obviously in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce. I am highly confident that the President is not going to buckle to the Democrats, but the central question remains of how he can he move his policies forward legislatively, especially in the Senate, when momzers like Grahamnesty are working to sabotage him on the most crucial issue bar none that we are facing. Hold on to your sombreros.

Secondly, we have the continuing revelations of the Deep State anti-Trump/anti-American Insurrection. From links by the good Roger Simon to Daniel Greenfield to William F. Marshall to George Neumayer, the sad and frightening truth has made itself plain; the FBI must be completely dismantled starting at the top and working down to a level that is the least politicized, if such a level exists. When the agencies and people that we have to trust to protect us from threats foreign and domestic become the threat themselves, then we are at a crisis point in the life of this nation. I always knew that human nature being what it is, you are always going to have some level of biases, political and otherwise wherever you go. But I always thought that people who we trust to enforce our laws and with national security would keep those biases in check in the carrying out of their duties. As the eight year Obama reign of error has shown, and now out in the open for all to see who have their eyes open (the Media notwithstanding), we have an inordinately large number of people who do not respect the Constitution because they are part of the political movement in the country that wants to destroy it, so abrogating that oath is no more serious to them than stepping on an insect. In fact, between the media, academia and government itself, those who are the true believers in this movement and even worse, those who are in it just for the money, actually do consider We The People as vermin to be eradicated, politically and physically. In light of this, as I have stated many times and has now been amply demonstrated by the attitudes displayed by petty technocrats and bureaucrats like Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Sally Yates and all the the rest, heads have got to roll, figuratively if not literally.

In the third major story that I alluded to as bubbling under, we have several links that are attempting to read the tea leaves for the 2018 midterms. On the plus side, the President's base is solid and perhaps will solidify even more as the effects of the Tax Overhaul really kick into high gear as the year progresses. He has also managed to expose how the Democrat-Left wants to use immigration as the nation-killing weapon that it is. Hence the polls against even the expansion of legal immigration by historically Democrat constituencies of blacks and Latinos. You also have the left hand of the Democrat Party at war with its far left hand for its future direction. Now that said, despite the encouraging news the other day that the generic Democrat advantage over incumbent Republicans has dramatically fallen, midterm elections generally favor the opposition party. Despite all that PDT has going for him, more so than any other incumbent president approaching the halfway point of his first term (of two, please G-d), the Leftist are so utterly energized with rage against this man that I fear it will be a factor that drives them to the polls in larger numbers than any other midterm in recent memory. If we consider Alabama, despite Roy Moore being a less than stellar candidate and the smear campaign against him, the Left out-organized us there an showed up in greater numbers than before (alleged voter fraud notwithstanding). Now is the time for the President and his team to prepare and engage. 10 months is both an eternity on one hand and just around the corner on the other in politics. We cannot afford to rest on laurels, whatever the good news of the Democrats implosion may be from day to day. We have to fight to win November '18 to persevere November '16.
