The Trump-Bannon War Has Begun
Reporter Michael Wolff is releasing a new book on Trump's rise, containing a lot of quotes from Steve Bannon -- whether Bannon is a source for these quotes or being quoted by a source to Wolff, I don't know.
But the quotes are pretty negative towards Trump. And indeed, Bannon -- according to Wolff, at least -- is pushing the Russia Collusion narrative.
"The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor with no lawyers," Bannon said, according to a copy of the book obtained by NBC News.
"Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it's all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” he added.
Bannon also said he believed that the Russians were taken after the meeting to meet Trump, something the president has denied happened.
"The chance that Don Jr. did not walk these jumos up to his father's office on the twenty-sixth floor is zero," Bannon says in the book.
There's a lot more in this NY Magazine teaser for the book, including a lot more comments from Bannon, usually disparaging Trump.
Well, that got a response from Trump.
More: Sarah Sanders blasted the book, saying:
"This book is filled with false and misleading accounts from individuals who have no access or influence with the White House," Sanders said in a statement shared with reporters.
She continued, "Participating in a book that can only be described as trashy tabloid fiction exposes their sad desperate attempts at relevancy."
