Last night I posted a link to a wonderful story. I don't think many of you followed it, because there were very few comments on it, and it's the type of story that usually generates comments. And it has. Kansas Man Killed In 'SWATting' Attack. I don't see how this can be anything but a homicide (I'll leave it to the lawyers to argue what degree), and I think there should be some charges that can be brought against the guy who gave the wrong address too. Finally, the cop who opened fire on an unarmed man as he answered his own door should be charged too. Just a complete and absolute cluster fuck all around. :(

This is Just Terrible Advice

You warm up a car in extreme cold to get the lubricants flowing, duh. Also, that bit about "It strips oil from critical components that help your engine run" and "(gas) can actually wash oil off the cylinder walls if you run it idle in cold conditions". WTF are they talking about? Gearheads, help me out here, just how stupid is that statement?

I Understand Wanting to Get Laid

What I don't understand is simply wanting to bang just anyone. I suppose if your standards are "two tits, a hole, and a heartbeat" this might be useful:

Tinder, Grindr, and other aps give a fascinating glimpse into the hook-up subculture. It's not that they are revealing anything new, in my yonderling days I certainly hooked up enough, but what's different is that now we have screen shots to save for all posterity exactly HOW the hook up happened, or didn't happen, or was attempted. There are whole websites and Twitter feeds dedicated to archiving these messages, and some of them are screamingly funny and/or damn clever. Some of them are smoooooth.
