The Morning Report 12/26/17
Good morning kids. Well, as we enter the final work week of 2017, although the news has slowed a bit there's still some unfinished business as well as some stories percolating that will no doubt carry on into the new year. Let's dive right in.
First up, as we all know, immigration and border security are crucial issues and the most important ones that got President Trump elected in the first place. Ann Coulter makes a compelling case that it is the most important issue of our time. In fact, in an interview linked below, she threw some red meat out there calling for the so-called DREAMers to be deported first. The administration and the GOP still have the political winds at their collective back, considering that the threatened government shutdown over some sort of DACA amnesty included in the spending bill fizzled embarrassingly for the Dems; in fact, Schemer and Pelosi have taken heat from their debased base for it. But Dick "Less" Durbin (still silent about his connection to the Leftist gunman in the attempted mass murder of Steve Scalise and others) is pushing another hideous bill which has immigration hawks up in arms. Circling back, although the GOP has the political winds at their backs, do they have the political will on this issue to tell the Democrats to piss off, or will they accept the premise that "something has to be done" and snatch a huge defeat from a no-brainer winning position? Despite the euphoria over last week's huge win on the Tax Reform bill, do not forget that the GOP's base is still the Chamber of Commerce and the billionaire fat-cat cronies who want cheap labor at all costs - even if it means the ultimate dissolution of American society and culture. I hope the President stands firm on this.
Moving right along, despite the vote to condemn the US at the bust-out freak show that is the UN, it looks like Guatemala's decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem may be followed on by at least 10 other nations according to reports as well as from Bibi Netanyahu. If the President can resist the temptation to get involved in the so-called "peace process," we might actually see some real positive change in the Middle East. Don't get me wrong; 2,000 years of Joo-hate will not just disappear overnight. But affirmatively moving the embassy and recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital (despite assurances as to final status and other details that have not changed) is the cold slap in the face the world, the PLO and the other miscreants have long needed. This is what real leadership looks like. Finally, a US president who recognizes that the problem in the region is not Israel and that there is no moral or other equivalency between them and the other players in the region. Keep it up. The other salutary effect is with the UN itself. If they continue to act like the international wing of the Democrat Party, even more money will be withheld by Uncle Sugar, perhaps even to the point where the organization is seriously crippled; a de facto American withdrawal if you will, without actually formally withdrawing.
From hither and yon, we have a trio of essays chronicling the complete crumbling of the Russia Collusion meme, the panic in the MFM over the growing public perception of the FBI as corrupt and out to get the President, Jeff Flake is a delusional joke, and lastly the sick mother who sent a box of horse manure to Steve Mnuchin is a psychologist. If you read the things he says and believes, aside from being 180 degrees out of phase with reality, from the tone and attitude, you can fully understand how so-called "Antifa" protests get violent and how assassination attempts can happen. In their minds, there will be no debate or discussion. If 2018 is as successful for the President as 2017 was, then things are going to get a lot more "interesting."
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
