Guerilla Artist Sabo Confirmed as Author Behind the "She Knew" Posters of Meryl Streep
Troublemaker Sabo confirms he's behind the "SHE KNEW" posters in LA, accusing Meryl Streep of having known about Harvey Weinstein's predations and rapes.
He explains by saying he considers leftism a mental "disorder."
He's not wrong.
The background to this:
Rose McGowan had accused Streep of complicity. Streep claimed she never knew.
Over the weekend, Rose McGowan blasted Meryl Streep on Twitter. Her tweet has since been deleted but she wrote, "Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @goldenglobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You'll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real chance. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa."
I didn't know what that meant -- but Marchesa is the fashion brand co-founded by Harvey Weinsten's current (for now) wife.
In response, Streep wrote a lengthy letter which she gave to Huffington Post claiming she didn't know about Weinstein's behavior:
It hurt to be attacked by Rose McGowan in banner headlines this weekend, but I want to let her know I did not know about Weinstein's crimes, not in the 90s when he attacked her, or through subsequent decades when he proceeded to attack others.
I wasn't deliberately silent. I didn't know. I don't tacitly approve of rape. I didn't know. I don't like young women being assaulted. I didn't know this was happening.
...
He needed me much more than I needed him and he made sure I didn't know.
Rose McGowan is now apologizing for saying that all actresses should wear Marchesa -- she makes her accusations promiscuously, because she's a bit off her nut -- and is also backtracking on whether she claimed Meryl Streep knew at all. See Sexton's post for that -- I cannot follow the mindthoughts and soulpatterns of the rage machine Rose McGowan.
Then, posters claiming "SHE KNEW" went up:
Is this fair? I retweeted this immediately because I don't like Meryl Streep and I'm tired of her pompous lectures. But I'm not sure anyone should be feeding this culture of endless accusation. I don't know for a fact that Meryl Streep "knew;" maybe she heard something, but who knows, maybe she didn't. Or maybe she heard but didn't know if it was true -- I hear a lot of things I don't know are true. Am I supposed to report them, or act as if I know they're true?
I have no sympathy for Meryl Streep but I am concerned that this Salem-like culture of accusation has gotten out of hand.
By the way, in searching for Marchesa, I found out that Megan McCain's wedding dress is by Marchesa. She says she'll still be wearing it for her wedding to Federalist co-founder Ben Domenech because she doesn't think Harvey Weinstein's sins should stain the designers of the dress.
Which makes sense, I think. As with the "She Knew" thing, I'm not sure how far we want to take this new form of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon guilt by association.
Apparently she bought this thing before the Weinstein allegations even broke.
And besides, it would be a pointless gesture -- she'd already paid for it, so she wouldn't even have been taking money out of Georgina Chapman's pockets.
And tossing away an expensive dress you've already been fitted for seems like an especially costly kind of Virtue Signalling. And as we know from Twitter and FaceBook, people who Virtue Signal only do so when it's cost-free.
