The Morning Report 11/13/17
Good morning kids. Another week is upon us so let's dive right on and get moving. First up is the continued kerfluffle of the Roy Moore "revelations" from last Thursday. Moore has come out swinging and he is reportedly going to sue the National Laughingstock (aka Washington Post). Good. More and more it's looking like a factual nothing-burger and yet as we all know it's the seriousness of the charge. Recall the damage in 2012 from Harry Reid's absolute lie that Mitt Romney didn't pay income taxes. Truth be told, Romney as we all know was to be charitable a less than stellar candidate, but the salient point is when Democrats lie the MFM is there to not only not challenge it but to spread the smear and make it suck the oxygen out of a news cycle. And the bastard all but admitted it was a lie after the election ("It worked, didn't it?").
Sadly, and predictably, one of the loudest in the chorus of GOP Establishmentarians calling for Moore to step down is the oleaginous Lindsay Graham. It's bad enough that the party is enraged that their shill Strange got beat by an outsider and Trump supporter, but what is just galling beyond belief is that Graham has staunchly defended Robert Menendez in open court, while on trial for corruption and who has fairly credible allegations of engaging in sexual conduct with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic against him. And yet Roy Moore must go?! I would like to tell Mr. Graham where he could go, as I'm sure we all would. At any rate I've seen two polls where it's both neck and neck and where Moore is still comfortably in the lead. I am praying it's the latter and that the good folk of Alabama recognize this political hit-job for what it is.
In other news, the President is hitting a grand slam home run across Asia as he continues his tour of allies and foes in the region. Of course the press will not report it or just make shit up. Meanwhile some schmuck in the House calls the good part of the Senate tax plan that sticks it to blue states with deductibility of state tax is a non-starter. Meh, McStain is going to veto whatever bill comes up for a vote anyway so why get all hot and bothered about it, right?
There was a massive earthquake along the border between Iran and Iraq and several hundred have been reported dead. Prayers for the truly innocent and hoping that terrorists and IRGC's were sent to the Infernal Reaches. Over here, there was a report of multiple stabbings at the Mall of America last night. Reports are it was a botched robbery but given the fact that the perp's name is not Sven Larsson, I'm sure we all have our suspicions.
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
