Hopelessly Conflicted Special Counsel Robert Mueller Impanels Grand Jury in Russia Probe
Update: Subpoenas for Donald Jr.?
Breaking: Per the Washington Examiner, subpoenas have been issued for documents regarding Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with the Russian lawyer.
What? Noting to do with the Russia investigation?
Doesn't that exceed his legally-bound jurisdiction?

Tremendous.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in Washington to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, a sign that his inquiry is growing in intensity and entering a new phase, according to people familiar with the matter.
The grand jury, which began its work in recent weeks, is a sign that Mr. Mueller’s inquiry is ramping up and that it will likely continue for months. Mr. Mueller is investigating Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 election and whether President Donald Trump’s campaign or associates colluded with the Kremlin as part of that effort.
A spokesman for Mr. Mueller, Joshua Stueve, declined to comment....
Grand juries are powerful investigative tools that allow prosecutors to subpoena documents, put witnesses under oath and seek indictments, if there is evidence of a crime. Legal experts said that the decision by Mr. Mueller to impanel a grand jury suggests he believes he will need to subpoena records and take testimony from witnesses.
He's impaneling it in Washington DC. The WSJ says this is "convenient" for his lawyers, because they won't have to travel so far.
It's also convenient in the sense that Washington DC is filled with Trump-hating Democrats.
Louise Mensch just emailed me to say: "It moved."
A couple of days ago the Daily Caller reported that Judiciary Committee member Trent Franks said it was illegal for Mueller to carry on as special counsel, due to his conflict of interest due to his close ties to Jim Comey.
epublican Arizona Rep. Trent Franks says that Robert Mueller is in "clear violation" of federal law prohibiting a special counsel from having a conflict of interest and therefore must immediately resign as special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation.
Mueller's reported friendship with former FBI director James Comey presents a clear conflict of interest, according to Franks, who is a senior member on the House Judiciary Committee. Federal law defines a conflict of interest as: "a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution."
