Election Results: Tories Predicted to Lose Majority in UK; Puerto Rico Votes on Independence
Below, the Decision Desk's canvassing of the Puerto Rico independence vote.
Meanwhile there's anarchy in the UK: There may be a hung parliament, with neither the Conservatives nor Corbyn's terrorist-friendly leftwing Labourites having a majority.
Britain is set for a hung parliament according to a shock exit poll in a disaster for Theresa May.
The earliest indications, released to broadcasters as polls closed at 10pm, suggest the Tories have won with 314 seats, with Labour on 266 .
If the poll is correct, it means while the Tories will most likely be the largest single party in parliament, they will not have an overall majority in parliament.
One prediction is that they'll fall 12 seats short of a majority, meaning they'll either have to form a coalition with some other party (and I'm not sure who they could form a coalition with), or... Labour will form a coalition with someone, giving them a majority.
I don't know. Another vote? I don't know how this works.
On the other hand, the #ShyTory effect may be in play, as it probably was in #Brexit, and was in the 2016 American election. It could be that people leaving the polls are only offering information about how they voted to exit-pollsters if they voted "the right way."
We'll see what the actual votes say.
