The Morning Report 5/3/17
Good morning, kids. Top story continues to be the budget sell-out and the frankly idiotic spinning of this as some sort of major victory for PDT and the American citizenry that voted for him. In the lead, Rush had VP Pence on yesterday and although the conversation was friendly, Limbaugh nevertheless was direct and frank to which Pence, although cool and collected, avoided answering the question that is all on our minds; how is it that most of the central themes and items promised by the President are not in a budget that contains more pages than SCOAMF's original Porkulus? The Veep kept perseverating about $21 billion for defense like Ron Paul going on about "silver dimes." In any case, Rush put a caller on almost immediately after hanging up with the Vice President, and he was not amused:
Yeah, Rush, I have never called before, but after hearing Pence, I am red-hot angry because what I hear-what I heard-is just a politician. That's all I heard. And, you know, it was all political blah, blah. And every question that you asked him, he just kept on going back to what we got, the $21 billion for the military. He did not answer one of your questions. It's like, "Well, why don't you shut down the government now? 'Cause it's gonna be shut down in September," and he did not answer your question. Okay, so what that says to me is that nothing is gonna happen, Rush, okay? Because they just become. . . They become part of the system."
You have to almost hear the guy talking and really Rush as well because both of them were steamed. The commenting was heavy yesterday in the aftermath, and no one was pleased. There were one or two of you that tried to defend this but it seemed kind of halfhearted, to me anyway. In any case, now PDT is making noises that he's peeved that the perception is that it's a win for Democrats. Well, Mr. President, if that's true you can always declare this "dead on arrival" and wield a veto. Over to you. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
