Media Which Has Been Decrying Rise of Antisemitic Vandalism and Bomb Threats, Assuming, For No Good Reason, a Trump Supporter Was Behind It, Suddenly Gets Pretty Quiet About It

Gee I wonder why.

This was always predictable. Or if not predictable -- certainly a very live possibility. I was just out at dinner and this came up and I asked why, given the huge amounts of open, blatant, proud antisemitism on the left, especially on college campuses and especially among identity-politics-infected blacks and Muslims, the media was so damn certain it could only be a White Christian Redneck Trump Voter behind this, and why Trump had to tell his people to stop attacking Jews.

Now that it's revealed that it's a left-winger who almost certainly voted for Obama -- will the media be making similar demands that Obama issue strong words against rising antisemitism on the left?

No, of course not. The media's interest in this story was never about the threat to Jews. As Ira Stoll demonstrated, there have been ten major desacrations of Jewish cemeteries since February 2008 but before Trump's inauguration, and the New York Times only saw fit to cover two of them (and one of those was outside the United States).

Since Trump was inaugurated, they've begun covering such desacrations, sending out reporters and photographers to document the vandalism.

Why was this no problem for the New York Times when Obama was president?

And why is this suddenly going to become not much of a problem at all, now that an Obama voter stands accused of phoning in threats to Jewish Community Centers?

By the way: Trump casually and maybe almost unthinkingly claimed this might be a "false flag" operation, and the media of course mocked him for that.

Donald Trump casually suggested an increase on anti-Semitic threats and violence could have been faked to "make people look bad", it was reported today.

He made the comments to a meeting of state attorneys general, according to one of the officials present.

There have been more than 30 bomb threats to Jewish centres across the US so far this week.

Here's the thing: It was a false flag operation. Well, partly false flag, and part actual anti-Jewish and anti-white hatred.

Juan Thompson, the Trump-hating former Intercept "journalist" was crying crocodile tears on Twitter about how terrible it was that the "coward" Trump was permitting these bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers at the same time he now stands accused of phoning in these threats himself.

Scan down to see him tweeting his worries about the bomb threats, and how "KIDS" are at these centers. But do note I can't find these tweets in his timeline now. Then again, there seems like a pretty good reason that he'd delete them, if he wrote them.

Strangely, he did retweet this, of all things, and leave it standing:

Oh, and he's also a blaming a white woman he calls "white trash" for setting him up and making the bomb threats herself, to make this solid citizen look guilty.

PS, he was fired by the Intercept for writing, get this, #FakeNews. Among the #FakeNews pieces were fabricated incidents of black people being oppressed by Trump:

The following day, Thompson wrote a piece on Black Lives Matters activists being blocked from entering a Donald Trump rally and quoted a woman who claims she never spoke to the reporter...

And he also claimed to have spoken to a cousin of Charleston church shooter Dylan Roof -- "Scott Roof" -- about the assassin.

There is no such person as "Scott Roof."

By the way, The Intercept itself -- which gave this aspiring CNN anchor a job reporting on Black Lives Matter and such -- recently ran a story bearing this headline:

Trump Can't Accept That His Allies Are Targeting Jews-- So He Blames His Opponents

Let the record reflect that Juan M. Thompson is unambiguously an opponent of Trump.

And white people generally.

And also doesn't seem to like Jews very much.

The left's got a lot to account for here, which is why this story is about to drop completely out of the media's playlist.

Some are hoping that maybe crude photoshops might help the media remember they were interested in this story a week ago:

That's a #MAGA hat shopped on to him, if you can't tell. The only pictures of him are of terribly low resolution and, get this, the media doesn't seem interested in posting pictures of him.

Now you're saying to yourself, "Ace, that's all well and good, but I don't think this guy is tied firmly enough around the necks of the left. Do you have anything else to connect him up with the left wing?"

Well, one more thing, actually.

An "otherkin" is a curious sort of trans person who believes that while he might be human in form, his soul is actually that of some animal, like a cat or a wolf, or some exotic fantasy creature, like a dragon or a "lycan" or a unicorn.

Don't get me wrong. Anti-Jewish hate is a real problem. We hear so very much about anti-Muslim hate crimes, but Jews are victimized at 8 or 10 times the rate, and we rarely hear about it.

But the media doesn't treat this like it's a problem -- or else they'd've long ago begun criticizing loud-and-proud anti-semites on campuses and at left wing rallies.

They don't treat it as a real problem -- just a political opportunity.

And as its use as a political weapon fades, so does their interest in it.
