This Is What Passes For Intellectual Discourse (We Are Existentially Screwed) [CBD]

On "The Daily Show," where hipster douchebag LIVs get ther political commentary, noted political philosopher Russell Simmons (Don't worry, I too had to look him up) opines on the huge problem of Christian terrorism.

Russell Simmons: 'Probably More Christians Are Radicalized' Than Muslims

Russell Simmons joined Trevor Noah on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" on Monday to talk about "Muslims Speak Out," a project he formed to deal with Islamophobia, which he called "the worst scourge we have."

He told Noah that people misunderstand the Muslim community and that "99.99-tenths of them are not radicalized, right?" And then he added the kicker: "Probably more Christians are radicalized."

Maybe I am naive, but I think that "radicalized" populations should display behavior that is...um...radical. Islam certainly checks that box, being responsible for terrorist acts which have claimed the lives of thousands of innocents, and being the drivers of most of the wars on the planet.

Christians? Help a Moron out. Where is current Christian radicalism centered?

As for Islamophobia: if your religion espouses the destruction of my culture and the murder of my coreligionists, you are damned straight going to get push-back from me. If you want to call it a phobia, then it is a rational phobia based on the very real, documented events that threaten my culture and my life.

But a more accurate term would be self-interest, or self-defense. But that's just me. I am a White, Western Jewish man. My opinion and life has zero worth in Simmons' twisted world.
