Congress Overrides Obama's Veto of 9/11 Bill, the First Time It Has Done So
It's a popular bill, so Democrats cravenly went along with it, giving, as it does, the victims of 9/11 the right to sue Saudi Arabia for its alleged connections to 9/11. (Of course, they'd also have to make that case in court.)
I'm not sure this is wise. Yeah, I know Saudi Arabia was involved. Saudi Arabia is the flower of terror throughout the world and always has been.
But if we're using this as leverage or a sweetener to extract concessions from them, and we're giving that up to give some (admittedly deserving) people money... Not sure if it's a good trade.
Then again, Obama doesn't use leverage to get anything out of any foreign power, so I don't know what this administration would be giving up.
Hillary Clinton's "Charity" foundation will probably end up poorer, alas.
So there is that.
And there will be a price to be paid, I imagine, for Saudi Arabia permitting its million clerics to propagate pro-terrorism messages on the internet.
BTW, Hillary's stout-hearted running mate skipped out on the bill so he could avoid casting a vote unpopular with the country at large or casting a vote which would upset Obama's cultish coalition.
But never fear-- the media will absolutely hound him on what his vote would have been.
