Muslims complain about town's 9/11 memorial, but City Manager Donald Castelluci of Owego NY has a refreshing answer to them....

They want us to change the word from "Islamic Terrorist" to either "terrorist" or "Al Qaeda terrorist"... I sent them back an email saying I disagreed with their premise 100 percent.

It has become almost axiomatic that terrorism is short for "Islamic Terrorism," but we should never allow the scrubbing of the complete and accurate term from the lexicon. Orwell understood it well. He said, "But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought." And changing the name of the Islamic terrorists who murdered 2,977 innocents on September 11, 2001 to some politically acceptable but incomplete or meaningless term is an affront to truth, and part of a concerted effort to put a happy face on Islam. But Islam is not happy, it is angry at the West and wants to destroy us.

I don't live in a politically correct world, I live in a historical fact world...whether it's American, homegrown, Christianity, Islamic, you call it what it is. And we don't whitewash things, especially here.
