Wait -- I just don't understand!

The corporate crony throw-the-election-to-Hillary candidate is attempting to siphon votes away from Trump by embracing the corporate crony position on amnesty!?!

Why, it's almost as if the GOPe had devolved into a simple Corporate Lobbying Organization with some light and very insincere social conservative rhetoric attached.

Allah wonders if Edgar McWhittle's position on amnesty will be too much of a "heresy" for the cohort of voters he's appealing to.

Um -- heresy? Embracing the amnesty position won't be any kind of heresy for the corporate class which has long demanded amnesty (while occasionally Gulling the Rubes with claims they wanted to build the dang fence).

At some point, can the people who support this position just honestly say so we can finally discuss it rather than this absurd veil of lies it's smothered under?

Meanwhile, spy-action novelist Brad Thor reluctantly gets off the #NeverTrump train.

Basically he uses a metaphor -- we have cancer; do you want this bad option (painful treatment with iffy chances of recovery) or this other bad treatment (euthanasia and a quick a d sure death)? -- that I've used variations on a hundred times.

A lot of #NeverTrumpers compare Trump to Candidate who is not actually in the running and find Trump inferior by comparison.

But that's the wrong comparison. You have to compare him to the people who can actually win the presidency, and right now that's just Hillary. Even if you include Gary Burning Man ReeferFiend and Edwin McGonickle -- um, Trump is still the only guy out of the four of them who's interested in protecting the right of religious conscience.

Yes, that's a very strange thing, that this obviously impious man is the only one who actually has any interest (or expresses any interest, at any rate) in protecting the right to conscience.

But that's where we are in the statist, authoritarian year of 2016, where the libertarian embraces the authoritarian position and the "independent conservative god-fearing Mormon" candidate is just cool with gay marriage.
