Ben Carson Endorses Donald Trump

Because nothing matters.

"There are two different Donald Trumps," Carson said at the billionaire's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. "The one you see on the stage and the one who is very cerebral."

"That's the Donald Trump you're going to start seeing right now."

Trump agreed with that assessment.

"I probably do agree. There's the public version … it seems to have worked over my lifetime," he said. "I think it's different than the personal one."

Hey remember that time Trump likened Carson to a child molester? Just politics according to Carson. Good times, good times.

I don't think Trump is a dumb guy. But I don't think he knows a damn thing about public policy. Listen to him talk, it's a stream of slogans and fluffy promises to do things, great things! Awesome things!

As Ted Cruz pointed out last night, there's no there there. What's the more likely outcome of Trump's threat to raise tariffs? That companies suddenly start making things in the US or that you pay the inflated price after the tariff is added on? Spoiler: No matter what, you're paying more. Either it's the tariff driving up costs or the added cost of labor to make things in the US because of wage disparities. Whatever you pick it means more Americans will be poorer and have a lower standard of living. Congratulations...you've made America greaterer!

I get the anger driving Trump and I get the idea that politicians that know public policy have screwed things up. What I don't get is the idea that Trump is the answer. If it were Trump v. Marco Rubio? Yeah, I'd get Trump. But there's a guy in the race who actually is as hated by the GOP as Trump is (maybe even more so) and has the added advantage of actually understanding the problems and the conservative solutions. If you're pissed at the GOP and DC (and why wouldn't you be) but you think Trump is a better weapon to wield than Cruz...I think you're letting your rage get the better of you.
