Music Thread: Classical, Traditional, Devotional, Opera, or Score
Winter always puts me in the mind of classical music, but I don't know much.
If you have any recommendations in any of these often-overlooked types, please share them -- especially the ones that go down easy for newbs. Like, maybe, don't throw out your Deep Cuts here -- maybe offer some stuff that would be a good entry.
One of my favorites is the very ominous Beethoven's 7th, Movement 2, used throughout the end-of-the-world movie Knowing.
One of my favorite Hollywood composers is longtime Bond composer John Barry. I even like his scores for schlocky movies like King Kong. The soundtrack to The Deep is pretty good too. (Plus that vid features Jacqueline Bisset in her wet t-shirt, of which one of the producers said, "That t-shirt is going to make us a million dollars.")
I also think it would be very funny if you tell a woman that you want to put on your favorite Sex Track, and how awesome this music is for sex, and how romantic and erotic, and then you lay down Dawn Raid on Fort Knox from Goldfinger.
