Ted Cruz plans to run the below ad during Saturday Night Live. The concept is clever; it's a parody ad of the sort you might actually see as part of the SNL show.
I'm not sure how funny it is, but it's definitely funny enough for SNL.
There's a little sneakiness in it too, as it looks like maybe it's just part of the (lame) show. So, Cruz is trying to steal a little cultural credibility from SNL (what little it may have to give), like they're deeming him "cool."
