It's Time to Start Listening to Millennials

Just like the legionnaires had to know the language of the barbarians.

I swear, I don't want to upset anyone, but you cannot look upon this Generation of Imbeciles and not tremble with fear.

I've always said Idiocracy was the scariest, and most dread-evoking, dystopian movie. Because the apocalypse predicted there wasn't big, shiny, and cataclysmic, like a nuclear exchange. It was just a slow degeneration of the human species into a new one, Homo Sapiens Imbecilus, and it was all the more dreadful because we had chosen this fate for ourselves.

There was no invasion from the stars. There was no extinction-level comet. There was no tinkering with Things Man Was Not Meant to Know.

It was the complete opposite -- a Great Forgetting of simple things that man was always supposed to know, but chose to make himself ignorant and stupid, because it was easier, and 'batin' is fun.

It was at the time the most plausible and most frightening end of the world scenario I'd ever seen -- and it is now being proven, every single day, to have been terrible in its prescience.
