Another Left-Wing Marvel Comics Provocation: Captain America Smashes Villainous Border-Controllers In The Face

Yawn. They really need to be boycotted -- Marvel, Disney, ABC. The entire organization is an obnoxious (and very successful) propaganda machine.

As noted at Hot Air, Captain America is Marvel's go-to leftist ideologue; just as Colin Powell's liberal statements are taken as more probative because he's allegedly a "Republican" (and, PS, he's not; he's admitted he only retains his nominal "Republican" status "to annoy them" (that is, real Republicans)), Captain America's supposed status as The Ultimate Patriot frees him up to agitate for socialism, statism, and foreign policy defeatism without being called "un-American." Hey, you can't call Captain America un-american. He wears a flag, for crying out loud.

So over the years we've had the unimpeachable moral authority and unchallengeable patriotism of Captain America arrayed against, well, Tea Partiers.

The other part of this is that the comics industry is a Carnival Barking industry. They're cheap, and they don't pay for much advertising. What they attempt to do is get "free media" by having this or that "event," getting a media always hungry for light, easy, and deeply dumb stories to talk about them, thus advertising their latest childish stupidity.

And they're leftwing themselves, but even if they weren't, they know the media itself is leftwing, and is hungry for a particular type of light, easy, and dumb story: a light, easy, and dumb story that propagandizes for the leftwing worldview.

So every one of these "political hot-button comics" of course goes in exactly the same direction.

The border controllers here are the "Sons of the Serpent," the serpent bit being a reference, I'm quite certain, to the Gadsden snake. *Nope: Comics readers tell me this organization has been around for a long time, and is a KKK analogue; the serpent might be some kind of reference to the serpent of dark wisdom in the Garden of Eden.) So once again the evil Tea Partiers -- citizens lobbying for their beliefs in a peaceable and democratic manner -- are actual Enemies of the State to be beaten into compliance in Captain America's world.

Yeah, that's Captain America's worldview. Maybe he spent a little too much time in Nazi Germany and learned to appreciate some of the virtues of the Strong Man form of social organization.

Right-leaning and liberarian-minded geeks need to finally wake the hell up and stop patronizing this creepily fascist corporation altogether.

And yeah, I boycotted Ant-Man; but I think I'm going to no longer even cover any Marvel Comics or Marvel Studios related news.

The hell with them. *

* To be honest, I, like many other people, think the super-hero bubble is about to burst anyway. Taking myself as a barometer: I was very interested in Marvel Studios movies from Iron Man through Avengers, and now am finding each new installment as tedious as an adult man probably should find them.

By the way: Guardians of the Galaxy was stupid. I don't know why people claim it's "great," except for their determination that it ought to have been great. What it was was silly. Groot started busting out magical powers and incredible offensive potential at the end of the film that would have gotten them out all previous scrapes had he used these powers sooner.

And then the little stupid Nova ships forming a giant space laser net?

The whirling purple cloud of cosmic nonsense with the heroes all holding hands? That looked more like an Always Sunny in Philadelphia parody of Guardians of the Galaxy, more than something that should actually have been in Guardians of the Galaxy.

But we might as well boycott so we can take credit when one of these flavorless unremarkable Marvel movies not just underperforms (as both Ant-Man and Avengers 2 did) but actually tanks.

Smart nerdy millennials are starting to bail.
