Aggressive opportunists scent weakness, and they understand that when there is no price to be paid for their provocations, they can move to bigger and riskier actions. The Obama administration would undoubtedly argue that its sanctions against Russia and its rebalance to the Asia-Pacific are hampering Messrs. Xi and Putin. The evidence argues otherwise, and the trend is moving clearly away from cooperation and the resolution of problems.

Tis the fall season and I'm sure a lot of moron yards have plenty of leaves piled up (I don't as that Nor'easter last weekend took care of that for me). Looks like someone is trying to profit from this by selling leaves. They sold snow from Boston last year.

Rathergate the movie must be pretty bad if even CBS news is slamming it. Then again, it's CBS news, who continues to do the bidding of the DNC. Why else would they essentially push out the door Sharyl Attkisson, arguably their best reporter?

Zombie

Here's what's behind our obsession with zombies. I think some of the appeal is that there is frustration that our normal mechanisms in place to police the government are broken and that it will never get fixed and the only solution is a major event that will kick start folks to deal with reality ala SMOD, etc and start over from scratch.

What is out of control, or what seems like it is out of control, is our society itself. A pervasive unease in America is deepening. It is a sense that our society has become unstable, that the normalcy we took for granted is gone and perhaps not coming back. There is a sense that at the other end of the tunnel we have walked down is chaos.

Winter is coming. Should be interesting, especially for the southern and mid-Atlantic states as it looks to be an El Nino winter which usually means warmer and wetter. However, Weatherbell's winter forecast is showing colder and snowier. Regardless, California should finally get some much needed rain.
