Government Paid AT&T and Verizon Big Money for Wiretaps
"Partnership."
I'm less outraged about this than many. I don't want to say "I knew all about this" but corporations' cooperation with the government on technical espionage matters is well known and openly acknowledged.
I'm not alarmed by the actual "wiretap" disclosures at all, if wiretaps are what I think they are, that is, actual wiretaps, and if they require, as I think I do, a warrant.
I mean, at the end of the day, we don't want to take a a Gentlemen Do Not Read Other Gentlemen's Mail attitude here, I trust.
But make of it as you will.
There are some other speculations about government's partnership with Big Tech in the piece, including questions about why Google stopped opposing Obama's Net Neutrality push.
