Mike Flynn is the kind of courageous conservative we need in Washington. When Andrew Breitbart launched BigGovernment.com to expose ACORN and fight back against the institutional left and the political class, he chose Mike Flynn as his lieutenant. For 6 years, Flynn helped expose the media’s lies and led many fights against the Obama Administration and Washington’s entrenched political establishment. I’m happy to endorse his campaign for Congress. With Flynn, Central Illinois will have a strong voice to uphold the constitution, defend the 2nd Amendment and stand up to the media and political elite." -- Senator Ted Cruz
If you haven't donated, and are willing, please do so. You might wonder what they would spend it on; well, they'd spend it on robocalls. They're probably already doing that, but also probably have spent all the actual cash they had, and are probably taking a loan to do it. So, you'd be helping them stay out of family debt.
Despite being the clear establishment favorite, LaHood has campaigned as the conservative in this race. Which is why his admission during a local news interview that he would challenge the House GOP -- and even some House Democrats --from the left on Cuba is so bizarre. Video is embedded below -- LaHood's Cuba exchange begins at 7:35:
LAHOOD: I think in terms of opening markets for our farmers, particularly in Cuba, I’m supportive of that. You know, this is the 17th largest agriculture district in the country ... when you think about the commodities that are grown and produced in central Illinois, we have to open up more markets. That’s jobs and economic opportunity for our farmers in our ag community in Central Illinois. So I'm supportive of opening up new markets, such as Cuba, for our corn and our soybeans and other products. That’s a good thing.
In the past, obviously Cuba has had some issues with human rights and other things. But I think this is a way to, you know, transition them to democracy and economic freedom and I'm supportive of it.
Um, throughout this non-campaign LaHood has tried to answer questions with stock, memorized answer. This shows what happens when he's asked something he wasn't scripted for -- he starts babbling about opening Cuba's markets for the farmers of the eighteenth district.
This is a nonsense answer. Calling Cuba's record "some issues with human rights" is the sort of euphemism preferred by Obama.
Clearly, LaHood hasn't thought much about this, and, at a lost, defaulted to regurgitating memorized nonsense about how much he <3 farmers and farm products.
And then we wonder why our government is the way it is.
This NRO article about the leftwing fascism in Wisconsin -- awaking citizens at gunpoint in the middle of the night to "investigate" fantasized political crimes -- is worth your time.
So how do they deal with it? By not dealing with it-- by bringing out 400 megaton attacks to make sure that no one brings up these issues they have no ready answer for.
They don't want to talk about sanctuary cities, so they make the entire topic radioactive.
Some astronomers are claiming alien microbial life has been discovered, by indirect but claimedly "incontrovertible" evidence, on that comet the probe Philae is exploring.
Though the Shirtstorm guy himself, Matt Taylor, is very skeptical.
I hope they have found alien life, so that feminist "science lovers" can critique men's sartorial choices at the press conference.
