Still hung over from E3 Gaming Thread [Zakn]

First off I hope Moron and 'Ette alike had a wonderful Independence Day, and any an all Celebrations came off without incident. We used to have fights with Roman Candles and Bottle Rockets. I don't know how we lived, but goddamn it was fun.

The Dude is taking the week off, so I said I'd write some stuff up for everyone to enjoy on their Sunday Afternoon.

I talked to Ekdahl shortly after the podcast and we talked Consoles. It's looking like it's about the time where it's justifiable for "casuals" to buy a Next Gen Console (Not WiiU). Mister Softey is finally starting to get their shit together and fix a lot of the broken stuff on their end, and Sony well I don't know. It looks like the PS4 is the console that is leading development (ie review copies are PS4 codes) so it's got that going for it. I just know Sony's not looking great on that First Party thing (at least imo). If you want to yell at me in the comments. Fine. I really don't care.

I am not a console gamer, but my advice remains the same. Buy whatever one's First Party games you'll want to play most. All the Third Party stuff is getting released on all Platforms (Except Nintendo). At most you will miss out on who gets the DLC first or where it's released first, but everything is going everywhere. The other thing to consider is what your friends and family have or are looking at. You'll want to be on the same platform if you want to play co-op or that sort of thing. That's why I bought a 360 last time. Everyone I knew had it, so yea decision made. I went and bought a used PS3 so I could play some Games of the Generation. Flower, Journey, and The Last of Us. I still haven't finished the Last of Us though. I really should get back to that.

For Example that First Party thing is what is actually making me regret not getting a WiiU. There haven't been a lot of games that were released on it, but enough titles that I wanted to play that it would have been worth it. So I will not miss another Nintendo platform. I want to play the stuff they make and the only way to do that is to buy their hardware. I love my 3DS and play it almost everyday. Sure I might get an XBONE or a PS4. I have no idea. Prolly a new Video Card. w/e.

In the News Department Nintendo is continuing it's grand tradition of OH GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!?!?" They saying they are working on new hardware but will still develop for the WiiU for a while. This has been Nintendo's worst selling console ever. They have cash. They aren't going out of business. Yet. And yea. Going mobile like The Dude said last week. I don't know. Like I said I really like my 3DS and continue to recommend it if you are looking into getting a hand held. BoxBoy! Is a hell of value buy and if you've never played it be sure and pick up a Chrono Trigger cart on Amazon. One of the best games ever made.

Minecraft coming to Windows 10. I don't know what to think of the news. Getting away from the way all the mods are done now could really be an issue. But what the hell do I know. I haven't played that in years. I watched a Stream yesterday with a super moded Minecraft server and it was nuts. Mechanical stuff, Crazy Electrical shit that blew up if you fuck it up. W/E. Gerstman Take

I would definatly defer knowledge about that stuff to people that actively play it. But, Could be cool right? Pip would like to share this

TF2 has a new mode/update. Seems interesting and the comic is funny. I haven't played TF2 in a while but the price point kind of puts me off a bit but it's a free to play game and has been for years. I do like the idea of Skill based things though. So maybe I'll give it a run. Always love a good TF2 match. My personal favorite mode is Payload Race. Also Love a great Payload map.

Remember we have a Steam Group! Game with your fellow Morons. I played a little Portal 2 co-op with PipandBaby last week, so there's always that if you never got to that.

I have watched this Hotline Miami Quick Look this time of year the last two years. Still Miss you Big Guy!

As for what I've been playing. Actually played some Eve on Friday. I still don't know what to think about "FozzieSov" other than the fact that it's coming. I just know that I fucking hate the Phoebe Jump Drive nerf. I know. I know. It was needed. Carriers jumping all over the place were a real issue. I know. I had tons of Cyno Alts to help me move shit around. Plus you could move from VFK to Delve in about 10 min. Literally as fast as you changed sessions you could move. But goddamn Space Aids is an arbitrary stupid mechanic that was literally the dumbest thing you could do to address the problem. I suppose it did exactly what it was supposed to, make space bigger, but all it really did was make everything take longer. Under the old jump mechanics the fleet I was on would have lasted maybe an hour. Probably less. Now? 3 hours. Also it now makes anyone not in a Cap be in a Harpy fleet. And those can be fun, but sigh. Just shitty lazy dev work from CCP. Color me shocked.

Other shit I played. By the time this is posted I will probably have finished Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Before I post this I'll probably re-write this shit, but going into episode 5 I'll say that I have enjoyed it. It's not as good as Season One because that one really played off on I want to protect this little kid feels thing. EDIT: I didn't finish it I wrote this dumb thing instead

I also discovered there's an HD version of one of my favorite "Podcast Games". It's Eufloria. It came out in 2010 so if you can get it cheap, go for it. I'm playing through it again because the Save Data didn't come over. Another Great podcast game is World of Goo. I know a lot of people like Diablo 3 for a Podcast game. If you have others be sure and post them up.

Since I went and played through Both Portal games recently I'm gonna put the Portal 2 Song in here. Spoiler Warnings (It's a 4 year old game ffs why do I even bother tagging it). I think my favorite part of those game was the Glados trolling. (Also the fat jokes)

Funny Story. I played through the Portal 2 Co-Op with my Dad. Do you know how hard it is to explain how Portals work over the internet? With Someone that has never even heard of Portal or ever played any first person games? It's Really hard (He prefers Turn based stuff like Civ and Panzer General). We ended up going through it twice. The first time I called all the shots (with his input of course), and the second time we played through he figured all the puzzles out.
