"...now eventually you do plan to have new AAA 1st Party IPs on your, on you new videogame console, right?"

Well, if you had any hope that MS Victoria Black Tusk The Coalition would make something different after they make the upcoming Gears of War game, you can just bottle it up, turn it sideways and stick it up your ass as Microsoft have now branded them as the Gears of War factory. SO expect a new GoW game to be crapped out every other year till console gaming finally finishes consuming itself.

Don't get me wrong, it should have been expected when Microsoft and Epic announced that MS bought the Gears IP and then quickly took Black Tusk off their Shangheist game.

But there was be it a myopic thought that hey, they will totally make a new IP. They even said so, twice. Once when they announced MS Victoria

And then again when they announced the Black Tusk name change. "What that means is we are working on Microsoft's next big entertainment franchise," he said. "We're not working on an existing franchise, we're looking to build the next Halo here in Vancouver, for example, which is really exciting. We are building something from the ground up."

But no, what we have now is "When people hear 343 Industries, they associate it with Halo; when they hear Turn 10 Studios, they know that's who makes Forza. Moving forward, when you hear The Coalition, we want you to think of Gears of War."

NEWS

Other than a couple leaks and a few pre-E3 reveals, there isn't much news this week. Fully expect for the faucets to crank open this week and the leaks drown everything out till they're fully announced next week during E3.

READ THIS: LEGO tried to create a "dong detection software" to create a sandbox LEGO game.

Yeah, it looks like FROM is going to continue their annual release schedule for Souls games. Considering in how this is basically their only game they have that has Western appeal and Japan's market is dead, it makes sense as a business level but this genre really doesn't fit for yearly consumption. I personally don't want a new Souls game just yet (bring back Otogi or Chromehounds).

• So yep, Bethesda finally released their Fallout 4 trailer. The trailer is good but I feel bad for console gamers as they won't get to have graphics that don't look like ass

On one hand, Amazon has a ton of awesome talent in their videogame studios so it would be nice to see them create something that isn't mobile. But on the other, this is not a good business decision to be getting into big budget gaming, especially at this point in time. Seems like something that is doomed to be like a lot of things they do lately in that it loses money.

• New Tomb Raider trailer....eh. The trailers for the reboot didn't do anything for me and the two trailers for the sequel haven't either. But I really liked the reboot so hopefully this is another case of bad marketing

To go along with the 1TB PS4, Microsoft is releasing a 1TB Xbox One. Makes sense with the PS4 as it's a little daunting for nubs to replace the 2.5" drive in the console but for the XBO, you just plug in an external HDD. And that external HDD is faster than anything they add internally as USB3 > SATA II. And that price, ugh. Phil Spencer still doesn't seem to grasp that when you remove all of Xbox One's "unique selling points", you can't go toe to toe with the PS4 when you're selling a weaker console. Also doesn't help when Sony has all those marketing deals in their back pocket. Phil Spencer was a mistake, he's nothing but trash.

• So XCom 2 was announced. I do love me some Terrors From The Deep

Phil Spencer: We're fully committed to PC. Swearsies this time.

So Valve finally announced the release date for Steam Machines, Steam Link (bridge to your PC to stream games) and their controller. Steam Machines are still way over priced. Steam Link for $50 is the best deal. And that controller still looks blegh though for $50, it might be worth picking up depending on the impressions when it's released.

Sony is releasing the 1 and a half good game Uncharted Trilogy Collection on October 9th. Only multi is entry to an Uncharted 4 Beta.

So some screenshots of Total Warhammer have come out.

• Posted the first trailer back in January and Her Story continues to look interesting in this new trailer. Devs, I'm not telling you how to do your jobs but this would be a nice time to try something like EA's Majestic again.

Nintendo: No, upcoming NX is not based on Android. Just like when we denied the 3DS XL rumors on June 20th, 2012, we mean it. It's not happening.

• Wish I cared about the Batman games but frankly I think they're trash. New Harley Quinn trailer for upcoming Batman 8 (in 6 years): Arkham Knight

NEW RELEASES

Not much coming out this week. A failed MMORPG, a movie licensed game and a mediocre dungeon crawler

Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited (XBO, PS4) - I really hated this game. On the surface, an open world MMORPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe sounds really cool but what we get is an corridor RPG with everyone fighting over quest monsters in tiny areas. It going to "Buy to Play" might save it from it being a dead MMORPG but eh, it should be dead. Console gamers continues to get hosed on getting an actual decent MMORPG.

LEGO Jurassic World (Everything but mobile which got a different game) - Time for the quarterly new LEGO game, this time covering all of the Jurassic Park movies. It's a LEGO game so you should know what you're getting. A decent but lackluster platformer that doesn't really do anything new that will quickly be forgotten in a week or two. If you don't like Jurassic Park, just wait a month or two and pick up a different IP crammed into LEGO game.

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (VITA) - Eh, it's a remake of two older dungeon crawlers from Experience who make nothing but dungeon crawlers. The impressions haven't been great with people wishing they would go back to making Wizardry games. It doesn't look to interesting for me. Looks like another Demon Gaze which wasn't that hot of a game IMO.
