Our first party lineup is a little sparse this year (Gaming Thread)

So Andrew House told investors that they really don't have anything to release this year. That PR touting that they have games like Until Dawn and Tearaway for the rest of the year wasn't lying. Everyone should have expected this though. We knew Uncharted got delayed again and they cancelled Stig Asmussen's (who is now working with Respawn on what would presumably be TitanFall 2) game for the feeling that it was going to play like Destiny. And outside of stuff like Little Big Planet 3, Sony just doesn't announce games and release them in a span of 6 months.

So what does this mean? Hope you like marketing deals. They already have Star Wars Battlefront, their multi-year deal for Destiny is still in effect (which they're releasing an expansion to this fall), they're in the middle of the Batman Arkham Knight promotion and if rumors are true, they may now have the Call of Duty marketing deal (MS only had it till Advanced Warfare).

It's actually good business doing this, marketing money does need to spent. Even if Sony fans acting just like Xbox fans during the later part of the 360's life makes me chuckle.

Personally, this is going to be Year 3 where as a PC owner, they only have 1 game so far that I actually want to play (Bloodborne). They're going to "win" this gen but they really don't have much to show for it. Games running better on your low powered PC than the other low powered PC doesn't excite me when any lower mid range PC craps on both of them.

• In that same Andrew House interview, he came clean in that the PSVita and the Vita TV are now considered legacy devices so don't expect more investment and I wouldn't expect much for OS upgrades.

• Last year Sony & Capcom announced that a port of Ultra Street Fighter IV was coming to the PS4 while touting that it was going to be the best version of the game of the 7 year old game. I totally forgot that it was coming out last week as they haven't said anything about the release till Monday saying about how they fixed the lag that plagued the PS3 version. Well, the new game has gone as well as a wet fart in church where it's worse than the bad PS3 release. Which wouldn't be so bad as they can always patch it....if it wasn't for the fact that Sony & Capcom have a Invitational Tournament ($500k prize pool) that has a stipulation that the PS4 release is the one played. CEO and EVO, the two biggest fighting tournaments have already announced that the system the game is to be played on is the 360.

• Capcom announced the new Monster Hunter game on the new Nintendo Direct. Going down the focused combat like how MH4U was. That's a good thing

• They also announced that the 3DS is getting a port of FROM Software's Monster Hunter Diary game (released as a PSP title 5 years ago).

• That Japanese character design

• Konami: "To whom it concerns, when we said we're focusing on mobile, we're sorry that you're too retarded to notice market trends." Well, that's not what they said but if you're upset, you're a retard.

• Not going to lie, this new SOMA gameplay doesn't do much for me but I've always been a believer in Frictional and they haven't let me down (well, the third part of the Penumbra was disappointing but eh).

• Be ready to be disappointed by another crappy Steam sale on June 11th.

• Though he says in a long winded way, Oculus is releasing the Rift for $300 which is the number they've always targeted.

• Kinda interesting, Final Fantasy Agito (mobile version of Final Fantasy Type-0) was announced as a Windows 10 Universal app.

Heroes of the Storm (PC) - Hey, Blizzard had a chance to lock down DOTA All-stars but they slept on it. Why? No idea as it was doing 20m players. Then Valve bought it and then remade the game and now sits as the second biggest game on the planet (just behind League of Legends which was created by the original people behind DOTA). So after the huge growth, Blizzard has made their own MOBA which isn't exactly a bad game per say but it's very much baby's first MOBA in every aspect with it's stripped down mechanics. Personally, if you're looking to jump into the MOBA genre, you're better playing League and then graduate into DOTA which is more satisfying though much harder. That being said, like the rest of the MOBAs, HotS is free to play so you can check it out just to see if you like it.

Hatred (PC) - The game with a ton of controversy due to Steam initially banning the game from being sold on their service. And then Twitch banned the game from being streamed a week or so ago. Streisand Effect, Hello. Of course this has lead to a bunch of mouth breathers to support a game that honestly looks like pure trash. I mean wow, you get to walk around killing random people, cats & dogs. If there was an actual hook to it, it might be a competent iso shooter but as is, it's a game made by people who "totes" where just learning all the facts when following hardcore white supremacists and conspiracy fucktards.
