The Flash Thread
Hey sorry, I don't have anything to post so I'll just post this.
I know I'm supposed to not be watching TV, but I do watch The Flash.
I gotta say, it's a good show. The cast is good, it's got the right tone (well, maybe too silly, but close enough).
The best thing about it, though, is the villain.
In case you don't watch it, but might start watching it on iTunes or whatever, I won't mention anything about the villain.
But the whole first season has been built around the meta-plot of Who is this guy? And it's actually an interesting mystery.
Anyway, tonight's episode was pretty good (lot of revelations about the villain), and the trailer teased next week's villain: Grodd.
Yes, the highly intelligent gigantic criminal gorilla. As with most successful exploitations of comic book IP, the Flash embraces the source material pretty hard, rather than running from it.
So, that's something.
They have a couple of other good villains on the show too. "Michael" from Prison Break, forget his name, plays Captain Cold, and he's so naturally chilly and cool he just owns the part. They wanted to cast someone as Captain Cold's sometime partner, Heatwave, so Michael from Prison Break said "Hey what about Lincoln from Prison Break?," and they said, "Great idea." So now those two actors are frequently paired again (and "Lincoln" does a good performance very different from his turn as a hapless lunkhead on Prison Break -- much angrier and meaner.)
Meanwhile, they haven't done the full Prison Break reunion yet -- "T-Bag" from Prison Break plays the Clock King. They just have to unite those three one of these days.
Anyway, good show. A lot of you would probably like it.
But TV is still terrible, obviously.
