Poll: 27% of British Muslims Have "Some" Sympathy for the Motives of the Charlie Hebdo Terrorists

20% say that "Western society is incompatible with Islam."

Well, they're the experts.

One in four British Muslims sympathise with terrorists behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks, a new poll shows.

A poll reveals how a significant minority of Muslims endorse terrorist atrocities against those who mock the Prophet Mohammed.

Some 27 per cent of British Muslims said they have "some sympathy for the motives behind the attacks" on the Paris magazine, according to polling by ComRes for the BBC.

A further 32 per cent said they were not surprised by the attacks. Some 11 per cent said that magazines which publish images of the Prophet Mohammed "deserve to be attacked."
And only 68 per cent of British Muslims said that attacks on the publishers of images of the Prophet are "never" justified, while 24 disagreed.

The government used to survey minority attitudes, but stopped doing so, allegedly to save costs. I think the real reason was to suppress findings like this one.

A government spinner allows that the findings are "worrying" but then seems to pooh-pooh them and maybe explain the real reason that the government stopped doing these sorts of polls:

"One of the problems we have had in relation to good policy-making around our minority communities is that,b> it has become headline-driven, it has become sensationalist and it is therefore not dealing with the long-term problem in a calm way."

Sorry but "the calm way" was gunned down in Copenhagen ten days ago.

In 2008, a YouGov poll found that one third of British Muslims thought that murdering in the name of Allah was permissible.

By the way: The police at the center of the Rotherham sex scandal -- in which the police and government permitted fourteen hundred underage girls to be molested and turned out into hookers, rather than face the politically incorrect truth that Pakistani men were exploiting white (English) girls -- just did what every corrupt and incompetent bureaucrat does when the depth of their malfeasance is revealed:

And speaking of being rewarded for rape.

Update: On that Government Worker Corruption-Award Cycle, in which the response to incompetence and malfeasance is to increase morale with still further awards-- most Rotherham council members dispute the Jay report and claim they did nothing wrong, or that there wasn't even really a problem at all.

They think a "right wing" media is out to get them, and they also say they couldn't have done anything wrong -- after all, they've "won awards" for their government service.
