Saturday Car Thread 5/31/14 - [Niedermeyer's Dead Horse]

Welcome to the potluck edition of the Saturday Car Thread.

I can't remember if I've posted this before, so pardon, please, if it's a duplicate:

Someone in SF is exposing the wild 'Truth' about #Tesla, and it includes 'anal itching'.

Yes, friends, all this and more is explained (somewhat) in a small-font pamphlet that Block found, photographed and put up on Twitter yesterday. According to Block, the flyers have been distributed around San Francisco, being left anonymously on the windshields of parked Teslas. We can't quite follow all of the logic thrown together here, but it appears that someone is mad at the electric vehicle manufacturer for its ties to the government, Google and the media.

Then there's this: "Psychographic, demographic and marketing studies have been published showing that Tesla drivers have a higher-than-average inclination towards drugs, strange sexual behavior and risk." We don't know if Tesla drivers are as extreme as all that, but there was at least one Model S driver who was recently spotted doing some odd moves in and out of his sunroof (see video below). Did we mention that Model S seats are known to cause "anal itching"? Maybe it's all part of the conspiracy.

I'd say the video at the link tends to support those claims. It's possibly NSFW so I can't put it up here.

Moronette, Phoenix Girl, has a riddle for you:

What does 0-60mph in 5 seconds and can carry your paints and ladders?

A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Myrtle Beach SC. (Oh the horror!) and found myself smack-dab in the middle of Bike Week. Which, actually, was pretty cool. It turns out that the bikers classed-up the place just a bit.

There were more beautiful and interesting bikes and cars there than one could shake a stick at, yet I failed to capture most. Some jackass stole my beloved Panasonic FZ8 camera from my truck several months ago and I've yet to replace it. Thus, what follows, are the few cars and bikes that I could capture at close distance on my I-Phone.

I saw lots of these bikes with the really big front wheel.

This Monster Energy Drink truck was massive.

Is this green a standard color offering for Chevy?

The latest in soccer wagons.

Then, there was this Caddy, which literally stopped me in my tracks. The photos do not do it justice. The paint job was exquisite.

Who, BTW, (as if we didn't already know) is a really nice guy. I found this old article, from 2008, when he auctioned off a number of his classic cars and bikes for charity.

I have no idea whether this gal has a charitable bone in her body, but I'm betting you couldn't care less:

Please feel free to send any complaints or commendations to me at Twitter: Nied's Dead Horse.
