Food Thread: Special Addition --Beer AND Nudity! [Beerslinger & CBD]
Like to drink beer AND get naked? Well then you might should start thinking about getting to work on your beer gut NOW for this mandatory naked beer festival shindig. Don't forget your seat covers!!! One can only hope that the fare does not consist of hot dogs and tacos....
Here're some GMO beers you might not ought try...
[Beerslinger is on her own on this one. GMO will save the world. CBD]
The Dutch have found a crafty way to put their alcoholics to good use. Maybe we should try a pilot program here in the states...
The FDA has come to their senses and have decided not to screw breweries out of selling their spent grains to farmers ...
Plenty of good news for those on the East coast.
New Belgium broke ground on their East coast brewing and distribution facility May 1st. If you're in the Ashville, NC area, check it out...
Stone Brewing is setting it's sights on South Carolina. The state has introduced a craft beer bill which would allow breweries to sell more beer to the distributors and operate a restaurant in the same location....bring it!
Also, Green Flash is opening a brewery in Virginia Beach. They might need to rethink the name since that green flash can only be seen on the west coast.
And in other beer news, a little PSA to remind you to drink responsibly, lest you be immortalized in a you tube video branded with a tag name like 'wasted flip flop guy'... one day his grandkids are gonna get a kick out of this one...
Alright, May's here. Smells like beer spirit. Let the thunder roll....
Hofbrau Munchen Maibock by Staatliches Hofbrauhaus Munchen, Germany
By tradition, the first barrel of this 7.2% spring seasonal from Munich is tapped the last week of April, so get it while it's fresh! This is a classic heller beer with it's recipe dating back to 1614. Fast forward 400 years and bock lover's worldwide still await the fresh arrival of this solid maibock. Copper color with toasted caramel notes of malty goodness. Brats & kraut!
Hennepin Spring Seasonal Farmhouse Ale by Ommegang, Cooperstown NY
Full bodied. Citrus, ginger and coriander make this outstanding saison to be a surefire hit at your next barbecue.
PranQster by North Coast Brewing, Fort Bragg, CA
If you are new to Belgian beers, Pranqster is a great beer to begin with. A very drinkable beer that will go well with your spring pastimes.
North Coast touts their unique mixture of antique yeast strains which explains the biscuit in this beer. Yes, there is a hint of bread scent in the nose and in the flavor. A sophisticated California brewhaha. A bit sweet too.
I'll take mine with a charcuterie and artisanal plate....or as I prefer to call it, a plate full of salty meats and stinky cheeses. Whatever you choose, it will go down smooth...
White Hatter by New Holland Brewing Co, Holland, MI
This Belgian-style WPA (white pale ale) is a great addition to New Holland's lineup. More of a pale ale than an IPA however is quite bitter, so if that's not your bag, don't go there. It has a nice spicy wheat flavor thing going on and is full of citrus and fruits. Set this one up with some Maryland crab legs.
Green Flash's Green Bullet, San Diego, CA
A well balanced triple IPA with a nicely concealed 10% ABV. Not overly bitter as you might would expect from a triple. The aroma on this bad boy is piney but the flavor is citrusy and pretty well balanced between the bitter hops and malty backdrop. Wash 'er down with a spicy Halal chicken over rice. With a nicely concealed 10% ABV, it will have you seeing more than double, think triple...
A wiser fella than myself once said you eat the bar, and sometimes, the bar eats you. I like your style, Dude.
What are you drinking?
