New Year, New Gaming Thread
Throw people getting ready for CES and Christmas and New Years and you don't have much news.
Today marks the start of fourth annual Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 where speedrunners play games for donations. The recipient this time is once again the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Hopefully they hit their half million goal.
Here is their site where you can watch the stream and actually, you know, donate cash.
hopefully twitch's admin won't spazz out on the speedrunning community
NEWS

• Anyone remember Devil's Third, the game that Itagaki and company has worked on since they left Tecmo in 2008? He says the game is 80% complete.
• And here is why the consoles want into the Chinese market. It pulled in $13 billion last year.

Random Crap
The big news is it's CES week where hopefully there is some news on when the consumer version of the Rift from Oculus is coming out and if they stick to the price range they originally set out to hit for it. Sony is having a presser there which will be streamed, all the rumors have speculated that they will be showing off their VR headset. Bunch of random small nuggets should be coming out when it comes to gaming.
Tech Report gives an early look at Nvidia's G-Synch tech. Not a bad start for the tech IMO. Will be interesting in seeing where it's at in a year or so.
Steam's Christmas Sale came to a close. My haul:
Anno 2070
Payday 2
Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Desktop Dungeons
Long Live The Queen
Wargame: European Escalation
The Incredible Adventures of Van Hellsing
Steamworld Dig
and I got the PC release of D&D: Chronicles of Mystara (figured might as well even though I have the console release of the comp) and Metal Gear Rising: Revengence (in hopes that it doesn't chug like it did on the consoles) from different venues.
Speaking of Metal Gear Rising, the PC release of the game is the only new release of note for this week.
That's it, I'm out
