Political/Open Thread
This is an open/political thread but I'm gonna throw up my Top 5 albums of the year on this.
#1) Emancipator's Dusk to Dawn
What can I say, I've been hyped on this dude ever since a buddy of mine put in his disc of Soon It Will Be Cold Enough in 09 and I've been in love with his work ever since. Though I think he slightly misstepped with his sophmore album, Safe in The Steep Cliffs (it was good but not great compared to his debut), he definitly makes up for it with his third album in 4 years. Top to bottom, a disc where every song is memorable and worth listening to. Big fan, not a shocker.
2) Cuushe's Butterfly Case
I've liked them for awhile now but it's been a case where it's a ton of talent but just slightly missing the mark. This time they finally did it, the album is fricking phenomenal. Perfect chill music to throw on at a party.
3) Fat Freddy's Drop's Blackbird
New music from the boys from down under in New Zealand means new instant classics. BIG fan of Dukie's voice and man I wish I could see these guys live.
4) Perfume's Level 3
I'm a sucker for bad pop music especially when I don't have to understand it. Friend has spun Perfume at the club for quite a few years and they've always struck of actually being good (having Capsule's Yasutaka Nakata as their producer doesn't hurt in that regard). Maybe not as good as their Triangle album but a big step above their mediocre JPN album. Ayano Omoto (short haired classy chick) will be my waifu.
#5) PANTyRAID'S PillowTalk
One third Glitch Mob and Marty Party and you get some good music. This partnership has been on a roll for awhile now and they really haven't released a stinker. That being said, really looking forward to new Glitch Mob
