A&E: We Are Shocked, SHOCKED! To Find Out Phil Robertson Is Such An Old Fuddy Duddy

Except for when they're setting up "reality TV" tension between Phil and a guy rivaled in his masculinity by Footie Pajama Boy, that is.

Because, *wink* *nod*

You remember that episode, right? The subtext of that plot line was Phil's supposed disdain for the at-least-metro-and-most-probably-homo guy Miss Kay brought over to photograph their dog. Great ratings - woo-hoo! - but then reality got a little too real for A&E when Phil started talking about his views on sin by quoting from that obscure Bible thingy.

But don't fret, you knuckle-dragging God-botherers. A&E is showing the courage of its convictions by airing 35 hours of Duck Dynasty for CHRISTmas next week. (apologies for the TMZ link)

DD is pretty much taking over A&E's Christmas schedule. The network will air 4 separate rerun marathons of the show in 4 days (December 22-25) totaling 35.5 hours of air time.

December 22 -- 5PM-4AM EST
December 23 -- 7PM-4AM EST
December 24 -- 6PM-9PM EST
December 25 -- 3:30PM-4AM EST

Season 5 of Duck Dynasty has already been filmed, so "suspending" Phil doesn't really do anything at the moment. I demand that A&E not ... no, wait ... I demand that GLAAD demand that A&E not air any episodes of Duck Dynasty until the entire Robertson family apologizes and agrees to fully embrace homosexuality.

Yeah, I thought so.
