Happy Wednesday.
The Second Circuit has decided that competitive cheerleading does not qualify as a Title IX sport. I don't really know how big a deal this will be for states in the Second Circuit. I can say that for states like Oklahoma (the Tenth Circuit) and Texas (the Fifth Circuit), a decision like this would never fly; competitive cheer squads are one of the ways that schools can have such large football teams and still be Title IX compliant.
Speaker Boehner and Reps. Cantor and McCarthy have been crisscrossing the country to raise money for the 2010 GOP freshmen who have been targeted by Dems.
Seven Cameroonian athletes have absconded from the Olympic village. There is some speculation that they'll try and remain in the UK after the Olympic Games are over, though---for now---they're not actually in violation of immigration laws.
