What was the plan here, to encourage economic recovery, and growth? For the national interest? I think he was saying we should cut taxes, call me crazy and dip my nuts, did I hear that right?
So how badly did Kennedy's tax cuts impair federal revenues? "Tax revenues climbed from $94 billion in 1961 to $153 billion in 1968, an increase of 62 percent (33 percent after adjusting for inflation)."
Well darndy darn. It's almost as if a healthy economy is better than punishing a badly damaged one with tax increases.
