Obama: Fox News' "Point Of View" Is "Ultimately Destructive" For The Country
This from the most destructive President in history. It would be laughable if it weren't so infuriating.
Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press. We’ve got a tradition in this country of a press that oftentimes is opinionated. The golden age of an objective press was a pretty narrow span of time in our history. Before that, you had folks like Hearst who used their newspapers very intentionally to promote their viewpoints. I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with. It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world. But as an economic enterprise, it’s been wildly successful. And I suspect that if you ask Mr. Murdoch what his number-one concern is, it’s that Fox is very successful.
Yes, well. Fox News is the most watched and most trusted source in America according to polls. Just another case where Obama is out of step with most Americans. Imagine that.
Can you imagine if George W. Bush spent 1/10 the time whining like a little girl about the press that Obama does?
Obama is the most thin skinned, lying, anti-prosperity, anti-American exceptionalism President in memory and he's lecturing people about what is destructive to America? The irony, it burns!
Call me when Fox News has put this country on a path to fiscal ruin. Call me when Fox News has endangered the health care of nearly every American. And call me when Fox News has sold out freedom loving allies to authoritarian thugs.
Until then Mr. President...shut the fuck up.
Oh one other thought...this "golden age of an objective press" Obama misses so much? Yeah, that's when the mainstream media consisted of the 3 networks regurgitating what they read in the liberal NY Times earlier in the day. All this holding liberal propaganda to some competition and fact checking is so darn destructive to the country. Why, it's like once the people find out what the self anointed gatekeepers are holding back from them, they tend not to be so fond of mainlining socialism.
And one other, other thought...Presidents really shouldn't be attacking companies and individuals by name. Not only is it punching down but it has the odor of an enemies list. But what do you expect from a President who sides with thugs around the world and practices "Gangster Government" at home?
Is it January 2013 yet?
