Dirty Work If You Can Get It: Wading Into Americablog's Prior Service In the Employ of Obama, Inc.

So far, not the racial Holy Grail I had hoped for; but plenty of nasty stuff directed at Hillary, as I suspected.

Now, of course, just because Avarosis is saying this stuff doesn't mean this is the "dirty work" he was asked to do by Obama's people (and did, by his admission).

This could just be stuff he wanted to say himself. Successful bloggers tend to be angry and specialize in below-the-belt cheap shots. (Yup: check and check for me.) So we have no evidence this is the "dirty work" he was asked to do.

But, certainly, this is dirty work, and he was doing this dirty work at about the same time as the dirty work he was doing for Obama, Inc.

From his blog, whining that Hillary was supposedly looking for dirt on Obama:

Wow, so what kind of damaging information are we talking about? Like if Obama were getting oral sex from a kid his daughter's age, at work, while talking on the phone with foreign leaders, with his wife down the hall? Like Obama lying under oath, obstructing justice, and dragging the entire country through the mud for two years? Like hiding files relevant to an investigation until after the statute of limitations ran out? Hey, maybe they mean like Obama flying around the country with his rich friend boinking every bimbo he can find in Vegas and everywhere else?

My tipster writes: I'd bet that Team Obama wanted to bring up Lewinsky and didn't dare do it themselves.

From his blog, on awarding the prize of a "Monica" every time Hillary said boo:

So, we're going to start a new metric here at AMERICAblog. Every time a Team Clinton player throws the kitchen sink at Obama - i.e., acts like a sleazy member of the vast right-wing conspiracy, rather than acting like a Democrat-first - we're going to award them a "Monica." For each outrage, we'll award between one to five Monicas, depending on the severity of the Clinton sleaze.

The picture of Monica that ran as "awards" featured her with her mouth wide open, of course.

Dirty work? Well, it ain't clean.

Remember, part of Obama's appeal to the center was not just that he was post-racial, but post-partisan; that he was a clean, nice young man (articulate, too, as Joe Biden pointed out) who was above this petty, nasty partisan sniping.

That was his image -- and he rode that to electoral victory.

Now, as he's peddling this conceit of Obama as Healer to the public, behind the scenes, he's outsourcing gut-wound stabbings to AmericaBlog. Which is running this sort of thing, even if this particular thing was not at Obama's direct behest.

Above it all? A nice guy who transcends the bitterness of partisan politics?

Yeah. Pull the another one, mate.
