ABCNews Backs Up Gibson: "We're Not in the Business of Noise"
Gibson never heard of the story.
Meanwhile, the Senate has voted overwhelmingly to deny funding to an organization under investigation in, what?, 15 states?
The House would vote to do the same -- except Nancy Pelosi is desperately blocking the vote.
In NYC, the Brooklyn DA is looking into investigating ACORN, and the state AG froze all pork for ACORN.
ABCNews' verdict?
Noise that they will not lower themselves to cover.
While Banner admits that some stories may get more attention on cable, blogs or talk radio, it doesn’t mean they’re suited for the "World News" audience. "There’s a tremendous amount of – for lack of a better word – ‘noise’ out there. We’re not in the business of noise."
ABC can devote entire segments to Obama swatting a fly on camera, but they report "news," not "noise"?
Meanwhile, the NYT continues claiming it's just too short-staffed to adequately cover this story.
After all, there is an economic recession they've got dozens of reporters assigned to not covering. They have only so many resources with which to not cover stories.
No Noise Here: Two weeks ago, World News Tonight ran a stunning expose... on the world's largest cheese-vault. Which smells, the reporter tells us, like a "teenager's dirty socks." Ripping the lid off the scandal now known as FromageGate.
Obviously, you know, they have a very high bar for what they consider newsworthy.
