Overnight Open Thread: David McCumber Lives to “Decide” Another Day! (genghis)
Yes!!! I guess we will have him to kick around some more after all. Today Hearst newspapers named McCumber (formerly of the newspaper/now a blog Seattle P-I) as editor destroyer of not one but two newspapers in Connecticut; The Stamford Advocate and the Greenwich Time. And bonus! He’s also been named “editorial director” of Hearst’s Connecticut Newspaper Group. Now the people of Connecticut can benefit from the same high quality of deciding that I was blessed with for the last 18 years in Seattle. (Well, 10 really…he didn’t join the P-I as a decider until ’99.)
McCumber is simply a one-man cornucopia of schadenfreude. He starts in these positions on April 27th, but you might as well start the death clock for these papers using today’s date.
"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds. (Well, newsrooms at least)”
Tonight’s overnight open thread is brought to you by the Axolotl.
What. The. Fuck? At least it looks happy.
