Skulduggery in Kiwiland?
The Aussies and Kiwis are being accused of "spying" on Fiji.
The New Zealand Foreign Minister has refused to make any comments on allegations by the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum that they are using locals employed at the high commission to spy on the interim government.
The NZ Herald reports that a spokesperson for Murray McCully today refused to comment on the allegations and no further comments could be obtained from NZ Authorities...
Why anyone would care enough about Fiji to spy on it remains somewhat of a mystery, but one has to applaud the Kiwis enthusiasm and willingness to play hardball spook shit if they are. I didn't think they had it in them.
[UPDATE]
A commenter, with obvious inside information, at the Huffington post has also keyed in on this Fiji thing. They've keenly identified the "Fiji Menace" as a key roadblock to world peace and astutely suggest nuking the place into a glazed parking lot just to make sure.
