Hastings "apologizes" for Palin slam

Liberal bastion of integrity and high moral standards, Alcee Hastings⁽¹⁾, has apologized for crude remarks slaming Palin last week.

"anybody toting guns and stripping moose don't care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks."

"I regret the comments I made last Tuesday that were not smart and certainly not relevant to hunters or sportsmen,"

(1) Alcee Hastings is only the 6th federal judge to be impeached and removed by the Senate in the history of the Republic. He was convicted in the Senate trial of corruption and perjury. As I recall (this is from memory, since it was big news here in south FL when it was going on), there was a drug dealer who was being investigated by the FBI who said to undercover agents that he controlled a Federal judge who could lighten sentences and/or dismiss cases for a price. The dealer claimed he controlled judge Hastings to the point where he could get him to walk across a specific plaza on a specific day at a specific time as a demonstration of his influence with the judge. At the specified plaza/date/time, Hastings appeared and walked across the plaza confirming that the drug dealer did indeed have heavy influence with him.
