Obama supporters and the "Lazio effect"
In this post, Ace shows its already starting to happen. What I'll refer to as the "Lazio Effect"© applies to women candidates who are perceived by the female public to have been attacked unfairly, or with too much gusto.
Rick Lazio was Hillary's challenger in her first senate campaign. When he strode towards her podium during one of the debates and demanded she sign some sort of pledge and pointed his finger at her in this pic, he lost the senate race. What had been previously tight, turned into a blowout as women all over NY flocked to Hillary's defense even the ones that didn't particularly like her. The finger pointing incident was big news for quite a while up in NY. I was up in the Albany area at the time and the change in mood was palpable.
The unhinged left, and Joe Biden would profit by remembering Rick Lazio's actions and his fate. Palin isn't nearly as loathsome as Hillary, so the Lazio Effect© will kick in with her even harder and faster than it did for Hillary (and that was pretty damn quick)
