How the Media Lost in Basra

They wanted the US and Iraqis to lose so badly they just ignored the facts and claimed we had.

But once again they've lost some of the small amount of credibility they have left.

* Note that the media usually does not see and certainly does not come to the areas it reports upon with such authority (dare I say "uppitiness"?), the "vidi" and "vini" parts don't really apply.

What's the Latin for "I called a stringer/stooge on the phone" and "This other guy getting sloshed next to me in the Intercontinental Hotel Bar told me" ?
